Just a few quick hits.
I picked up a copy of the new Springsteen disc called the rising. It's his first work with east street since born in the usa. The critics love it. My take is if you like the boss you won't find much in the way of the usual formula. But the disc was inspired and written about the sept 11 tradgedy. He interviewed different family's of people affected etc. It covers a range of topics, feelings and emotions. The alblum is a little solumn and dark, yet fileld with emotion. Like Bob Dylan he is a great american writer, storyteller, poet. Dylan is interesting "cat". That's another tangent altogether.
If you like non traditioal jazz I just heard a copy from the internet of Pat Methany live at the philly jazz fest 1990 with Herbie Hancock and Jack Dejohnnes. It's a scorcher.
I just got Cherie the 80's collection but have yet to give it a listen. I was on music oveload yesterday.
Have a an excellent weekend.
It's a nice work.

My musical taste run from one extreme to the other, Right now I'm on a bluegrass kick because of the Oh Brother Where Art Thou Sndtrk. I just discovered Hayseed Dixie... They are a bluegrass band that plays ONLY AC/DC cover songs, Dirty Deeds done on banjo! Highway To **** done on Mandolin. Its great stuff. The other band is Luther Wright & the Wrongs "Rebuild The Wall"... Yes they do the entire Cd of Pink Floyd's The Wall, Via Nashville, Banjos, Fiddles and slide guitars. Very interesting... Oh Oh I'm Having An inspiration here.. Yes Oh Yes I can hear It Now ... How 'bout The Runaways First Lp ... BLUEGRASS.. Oh yea can ya hear The Banjo intro to Cherry Bomb, And the lead parts on Dobro... Oh I gots to quit eating Jalapinos and Anchovie pizza with Pinapple chunks... Oh my wife says I'm ramblin' again... Please don't throw stones... Peace

No doubt, a weekend in the mountains on a front porch with Jorma playing gotta love it.
But for us working folks who can't always get away. I'll take as many of the small pleasures
as I can squeeze in the 2 days.

I'm off thurs, fri and monday! I need a break.
"working for the man" stinks. I want to open either a music/cd shop or a hot dog truck.
Anything is better than corporate politics.
